Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command, attached to the Scorpion Squad, have trailed and arrested two notorious car-snatching suspects.<\/p>\n

FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said in a statement on Saturday that the operations were carried out between August 19 and 21, 2025, while acting on credible digital intelligence.<\/p>\n

The police spokesperson said the suspects, identified as Solomon Fanen Manger and Solomon Yande, both from Benue State, confessed to being long-time members of a syndicate specialising in the theft of high-value vehicles, particularly Toyota Prado SUVs and Toyota Hilux trucks.<\/p>\n

She said the suspects admitted to operating mainly around Wuse, Garki, and the Central Area of the nation\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n

Within August alone, SP Adeh said the suspects stole three Toyota Prado SUVs, two white Toyota Hilux vehicles, and one black Toyota Camry, which they sold for between N7 million and N8 million each.<\/p>\n

The suspects further confessed that their gang leader, one \u201cAlhaji\u201d (real name unknown), operates from Niger Republic, where he receives the stolen vehicles.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe arrest led to the recovery of a stolen Toyota Hilux with registration number FCTA 13B100CT, their operational black Toyota Matrix with registration number ABC 85 NW, an electronic car jammer, and five (5) rounds of 7.62x39mm live ammunition\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n

The police spokesperson PPRO stated that a similar incident occurred on August 22, 2025, when operatives of Karu Division were on routine surveillance patrol around NEPA Quarters, Karu.<\/p>\n

She said the operatives intercepted one Daniel Oguata of Kogi State while attempting to steal a Toyota Picnic vehicle with registration number RBC 322 JR.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspect was arrested, and the exhibit recovered.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll suspects are in custody and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations\u201d, she added.<\/p>\n
