Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Two police officers were shot dead and a third critically injured during a violent standoff in rural Victoria on Tuesday, authorities confirmed.<\/p>\n

The incident took place in Porepunkah, a small community at the base of Victoria\u2019s northeast mountains, when officers arrived at a property to execute a warrant linked to historic sexual abuse allegations, according to The Age.<\/p>\n

Victoria Police described the situation as \u201can active incident,\u201d urging residents to stay away from the area while operations continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will provide further updates once it is safe to do so,\u201d the force said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Public broadcaster ABC and other local outlets reported that two officers were killed instantly, a third sustained serious injuries, and the alleged gunman remained at large.<\/p>\n
