Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Head coach of the South Africa national team, Hugo Broos, has claimed that Nigeria could still qualify for the 2026 World Cup.<\/p>\n

Broos has warned his players not to underestimate the Super Eagles or Lesotho ahead of their qualifying fixtures in September.<\/p>\n

Bafana Bafana are currently top of Group C with 13 points from six matches.<\/p>\n

They hold a five-point lead over Rwanda and Benin.<\/p>\n

Nigeria sit in fourth place with only seven points, having won just one of their previous six matches.<\/p>\n

South Africa face Lesotho on September 5, before hosting the Super Eagles four days later.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe knew from the start that the team we had to beat is Nigeria,\u201d Broos said as per Iol.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though they started badly, they can still qualify.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest mistake the South African players can make is underestimating Lesotho.<\/p>\n

\u201cRemember this Lesotho team held Nigeria to a draw in Nigeria, so we must not make the mistake of underestimating them. We beat Lesotho before, so we must beat them again.\u201d<\/p>\n
