{"id":176853,"date":"2025-08-30T12:05:04","date_gmt":"2025-08-30T11:05:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/2026-guber-adc-alleges-apc-voter-importation-plot-in-osun"},"modified":"2025-08-30T13:11:44","modified_gmt":"2025-08-30T12:11:44","slug":"2026-guber-adc-alleges-apc-voter-importation-plot-in-osun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/parties\/2026-guber-adc-alleges-apc-voter-importation-plot-in-osun","title":{"rendered":"2026 guber: ADC alleges APC \u2018voter importation\u2019 plot in Osun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has accused the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State of allegedly orchestrating a plot to manipulate the forthcoming governorship election through irregular voter registration practices.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued on Friday, Abosede Oluwaseun, Publicity and Organising Secretary of the Omoluabi Progressives, a caucus within the ADC, alleged that the APC was registering non-residents from neighbouring states such as Oyo, Ondo, and Lagos into the Osun voters\u2019 register.<\/p>\n<p>According to the party, compromised officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were being used to facilitate multiple registrations.<\/p>\n<p>Where this failed, APC operatives were allegedly transferring voter cards belonging to their supporters in other states to Osun.<\/p>\n<p>Describing the move as \u201ca sophisticated attempt at rigging and a direct assault on the will of the people,\u201d Oluwaseun argued that such activities posed a serious threat to electoral integrity in the state.<\/p>\n<p>He also questioned INEC\u2019s announcement of 393,269 new registrations recorded in Osun within just eight days, saying the figure was suspicious and reflective of the APC\u2019s alleged \u201cwin at all costs\u201d strategy.<\/p>\n<p>He linked the development to what he called the anti-people policies of the APC-led federal government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing the party of worsening poverty, insecurity, and economic hardship across Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>The ADC therefore called on residents of Osun to remain vigilant, resist any form of manipulation, and safeguard their democratic rights. \u201cOsun must not become a testing ground for electoral fraud,\u201d the statement read.
