{"id":177761,"date":"2025-09-05T07:04:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T06:04:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/kano-police-arrest-three-for-fraud-and-impersonation"},"modified":"2025-09-05T08:31:21","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T07:31:21","slug":"kano-police-arrest-three-for-fraud-and-impersonation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/kano-police-arrest-three-for-fraud-and-impersonation","title":{"rendered":"Kano Police Arrest Three for Fraud and Impersonation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Kano state Police command has arrested three men accused of impersonating security personnel and defrauding a victim of over one million naira.<\/p>\n<p>Police spokesperson SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, in a statement issued on Thursday, said the suspects; Nasiru Adamu (30) from Sokoto, and Yusuf Sani (49) and Aliyu Yusuf (25), both from Daura, Katsina State were arrested on September 2, 2025, at Danagundi Quarters, Kano.<\/p>\n<p>The trio allegedly deceived their victim, Salisu Ibrahim, and fraudulently obtained the sum of \u20a61,030,000.00 from him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreliminary investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly posed as security personnel and deceitfully claimed to possess special abilities to assist the victim. They instructed him to bring the money to a specific location, where they planned to provide further instructions through a whispered message. Acting swiftly on the distress call and with the assistance of the public, the Police successfully arrested the suspects.\u201d The statement partly reads.<\/p>\n<p>Kiyawa said investigation is ongoing and the suspects would be charged to court soon.
