{"id":177918,"date":"2025-09-08T16:56:04","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T15:56:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/pdp-hijacked-placed-in-icu-by-apc-agents-dele-momodu"},"modified":"2025-09-08T18:17:31","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T17:17:31","slug":"pdp-hijacked-placed-in-icu-by-apc-agents-dele-momodu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/parties\/pdp-hijacked-placed-in-icu-by-apc-agents-dele-momodu","title":{"rendered":"PDP hijacked, placed in ICU by APC agents \u2013 Dele Momodu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A key member of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, coalition, Dele Momodu, on Monday declared that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been placed in the Intensive Care Unit, ICU, by agents of the All Progressives Congress, APC.<\/p>\n<p>Momodu disclosed this while noting that agents of the APC have hijacked the PDP.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Channels Television\u2019s Sunrise Daily, the veteran journalist said: \u201cADC is a coalition of different political parties and I resigned from the PDP because I saw that we have reached a kind of cul-de-sac, so I\u2019m joining ADC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI resigned since and you could see that PDP has been completely hijacked by agents of the ruling party, APC, who insist on staying in PDP while working for APC, it\u2019s a kind of anomaly but it\u2019s okay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I don\u2019t agree with my party, the honourable thing to do is to resign and that\u2019s what I did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Momodu also disclosed that he\u2019s monitoring how events unfold in the PDP.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cApart from being a politician, I\u2019m also a journalist and I monitor events in the PDP and other political parties and it\u2019s almost certain that PDP will not be able to rescue itself from the agent of the ruling party and that was why I left.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t in good conscience be in PDP while I work for a coalition or any other party. Anyone who knows me, know my trajectory will remember that I contested the presidential election in 2011 on the platform of National Conscience Party and I came to the party from Labour when I realized that Labour was not interested in contesting the presidency at that time.
