{"id":178144,"date":"2025-09-09T21:16:22","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T20:16:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/bauchi-police-arrest-septuagenarian-for-minor-molestation"},"modified":"2025-09-09T22:29:34","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T21:29:34","slug":"bauchi-police-arrest-septuagenarian-for-minor-molestation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/bauchi-police-arrest-septuagenarian-for-minor-molestation","title":{"rendered":"Bauchi Police Arrest Septuagenarian for Minor Molestation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 70-year-old watchman, Lawan Sani, for allegedly molesting three teenage girls in Unguwar Sarakuna, Bauchi, with the victims claiming he abused them more than 15 times.<\/p>\n<p>A statement issued by the Command\u2019s Spokesman, CSP Ahmed Wakil on Tuesday, stated that the septuagenarian was arrested \u201cfor multiple counts of sexual assault involving teenage girls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wakil said that the case was reported on September 1st at about 4:00hrs, after a distress indicated that an elderly man identified as \u201cLawan Sani, aged 70yrs of Bakin Kura area of Bauchi, was arrested on the spot in an attempt to commit an offence to wit, rape with a teenager aged 16yrs, of Unguwar Sarakuna Bauchi in a house situated at Unguwar Sarakuna area of the state, where the old man serves as watchman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring interrogation, he confessed to having previously influenced the minor with N500 into the same residence.
