{"id":178794,"date":"2025-09-13T17:06:32","date_gmt":"2025-09-13T16:06:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/mass-defection-792-pdp-women-join-apc-in-jigawa"},"modified":"2025-09-13T18:09:37","modified_gmt":"2025-09-13T17:09:37","slug":"mass-defection-792-pdp-women-join-apc-in-jigawa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/parties\/mass-defection-792-pdp-women-join-apc-in-jigawa","title":{"rendered":"Mass defection: 792 PDP women join APC in Jigawa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>About 792 women have dumped the main opposition party, the People\u2019s Democratic Party, PDP, and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Jigawa State.<\/p>\n<p>The defectors were received by the wife of the governor, Amina Umar Namadi, in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.<\/p>\n<p>She said the development reflected the good leadership of the present administration under Governor Umar Namadi and its commitment to improving the lives of citizens, especially women and youth.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Namadi congratulated the women and assured them that the APC\u2019s doors remain open to all who wish to join the movement for the state\u2019s development.<\/p>\n<p>Also speaking at the event, the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, reaffirmed the present administration\u2019s commitment to improving the lives of ordinary citizens.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that since its inception, the state government has introduced a series of programmes and policies for the development of the state.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, \u201cthe present administration has excelled among his counterparts in delivering the dividends of democracy to its citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Amina Waina said the women shifted their loyalty to the present administration due to its commitment to supporting women.<\/p>\n<p>They pledged to continue mobilising women to support the present administration in the forthcoming 2027 general election.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
