Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Olufemi Gbajabiamila, ex-Senate President, Ken Nnamani and Yakubu Dogara, among other former southern lawmakers, on Saturday stormed Ogun for the 2025 Southern Summit of former legislators.<\/p>\n

The summit convened by Gbajabiamila, themed \u2018National Unity: Bedrock of Nation Building\u2019, is taking place at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.<\/p>\n

Also at the gathering are, former Speaker Patricia Olubunmi Etteh, National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma Egba.<\/p>\n

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, Speaker, Oludaisi Elemide, among others are also at the event.<\/p>\n

In his opening remarks, the National Coordinator of National Forum of Former Legislators, NFFL, Rahpeal Nnanna Igbokwe, noted that the summit is an opportunity for reunion, networking and would be committed to issues that will bring about peace, unity and prosperity of the country.<\/p>\n

He called for greater co-operation and urged the state governments to complement the federal government\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is really a great pleasure to welcome all delegates and our invited guests to the 2025 Southern Summit of Former Legislators.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis summit will once again afford opportunity for re-union, networking and most importantly lend our voices to critical National issues. As a body we are committed to issues that will promote peace and unity of our dear country and also entrench democracy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
