Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Two people have died and 12 others were injured after a truck crashed into a public gathering in Jikamshi village, Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.<\/p>\n

Security analyst, Zagazola Makama shared the news in a post on X on Thursday.<\/p>\n

According to him, the accident happened on Tuesday night at about 8:45 p.m. when a Mitsubishi Canter truck loaded with sugarcane lost control.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe driver, who is now on the run, veered off the road and rammed into the gathering, causing multiple casualties.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolice officers from Musawa Division quickly arrived at the scene, secured the area, and moved the victims to Musawa General Hospital,\u201d Makama wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo victims, identified as Mustapha Umar, 38, and Mani Salisu, 34, were confirmed dead by a medical doctor. Twelve others are still receiving treatment, while some with minor injuries have been discharged.\u201d<\/p>\n

Authorities have launched a search for the fleeing driver as investigations into the crash continue.<\/p>\n
