Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Rivers State Entrepreneur and Investors Forum, REIF, has called on political leaders in the state to restrain their supporters from making statements capable of fueling further political crisis.<\/p>\n

President of REIF, Ibifiri Bobmanuel, in an interview with Today FM\u2019s Ifunanya Obeme-Ndukwe, while reacting to President Bola Tinubu\u2019s decision to end the six-month emergency rule in Rivers State, said the actions of supporters of political leaders have contributed significantly to the unrest in the state.<\/p>\n

Bobmanuel, who leads the private sector in Rivers, stressed that the peace initiative brokered by President Tinubu, Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory is vital, particularly for private sector growth.<\/p>\n

Bobmanuel said, \u201cThe resumption of the Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State back to office by the instruction of the president had been taken with a lot of excitement, especially from us from the private.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the leader of the private sector in Rivers State, I say a big thank you to the president. I say a big thank you to the governor and his political leader, Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, the Minister for the Federal Capital Territory, for funding this long sorted peace.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd for us, it is important for us to try as much as possible to refrain and gag our supporters.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur supporters must be gaged because the problems we have faced in the state mostly would have emanated from our supporters.\u201d<\/p>\n

He emphasized the need for Rivers people to unite, foster peace, and drive the development the state urgently requires, adding that the governor must \u201chit the ground running\u201d to attract private investments.<\/p>\n

According to him, the governor must also create an enabling environment to attract direct foreign investment into the state.<\/p>\n

Bobmanuel further called for the dissolution of all political factions into a single, unified structure, insisting that the state cannot make progress in the absence of unity.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we need to come together and forge peace and drive the development of Rivers State that the state needs in earnest and immediately.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to hit the ground running immediately. The governor needs to hit the ground running immediately.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe private sector and the private participation and the private investment and funds need to come into the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, the governor must have to find a way to fashion out the enabling environment for those much needed funding and those direct foreign investments to come into the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, all hands must be on desk at this point and every other faction should be collapsed into a unified house.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause not until when the state is unified, we can\u2019t grow together as a people.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, it is important for me being the leaders of the private sector to point this out to the governor, to his political leader and most importantly to each and everyone of us in the state because it is very important.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnity, purpose and focus is what we need.\u201d<\/p>\n
