Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A 68-year-old-woman, Mrs Victoria Madubuko of Ndiambe Ozuitem in Bende LGA of Abia State has been arrested by the police for allegedly flogging a 22-year-old girl, Nnenna Eke to death.<\/p>\n

She committed the act with a native cane known as \u201cOkpete\u201d, after an altercation.<\/p>\n

This was confirmed by the Commissioner of Police, Abia Command, CP Danladi Isa, when he addressed journalists at the police headquarters, Umuahia.<\/p>\n

He said that the victim, Nnenna Eke fell sick as a result of the flogging and was taken to Tochi Hospital where the doctors confirmed her dead.<\/p>\n

The CP, who said that the corpse of the 22-year-old girl had been deposited in a mortuary at Akaelu in Bende LGA, disclosed that the suspect, Mrs Victoria Madubuko was arrested by the police while investigation on the matter is ongoing at State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Umuahia.<\/p>\n

In a related incident, the CP said that a 31-year-old man, Chinonso Chukwuemeka from Abayi village was stabbed on the chest by one man, Chimaobi Nwanne of the same address during a scuffle about a business transaction.<\/p>\n

He said that the victim was rushed to Akachukwu Hospital Eastern Ngwa for medical attention but was confirmed dead by doctors.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner of Police, who further said that the suspect, Chinonso Chukwuemeka fled to Umuezenta Mbasi village after committing the crime, said that he was nabbed by police officers from Eastern Ngwa Divisional Headquarters, adding that investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
