Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has rubbished the move by the move by the Rivers State House of Assembly to probe the outgone Sole Administrator of the state, Ibok-Ette Ibas.<\/p>\n

According to him, such probe cannot never be completed without President Bola Tinubu being mentioned.<\/p>\n

Eze said he does not see the state assembly having the courage to try the former sole administrator.<\/p>\n

Durinng its first sitting after President Tinubu lifted the suspension on democratic rule in Rivers, the State Assembly ordered for the probe of the Ibas.<\/p>\n

Eze said it must be noted that that comment ends there, adding that it was a mere hoax.<\/p>\n

Vice Admiral Ibas, rtd., has since pushed back against the State House of Assembly\u2019s plan to probe expenditures under his leadership.<\/p>\n

Ibas administered the state from March through mid-September. He handed back power on 17 September.<\/p>\n

During that time, Rivers State received approximately N254.37 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC.<\/p>\n

The largest share of the allocations, over 50%, came via oil derivation, underscoring the state\u2019s dependence on oil-linked revenues.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s definitely not going to be any probe. Those loons parading themselves as Assembly members do not know their right from left,\u201d Eze said in a statement in Port Harcourt. \u201cSo they should not be taken seriously.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe threat to probe Ibas is just for the media. If not, one would have loved to see a situation where Ibas is brought to explain how he wasted Rivers State funds.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor six good months, no record project not even in a small interior village.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeeing that President Tinubu was the Supervisor of Ibas during the illegal State of emergency he should also prepare himself to account for all the illegalities that Ibas committed against Rivers State and her people.\u201d<\/p>\n
