1. Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State on Thursday, presented an appropriation bill of one trillion, one hundred billion, one hundred and sixty seven million, five hundred and seven thousand naira, nine kobo, for the 2020 fiscal year.<\/p>\n
The budget tagged \u201cBudget of Olimpotic Meristemasis\u201d, has at its capital expenditure N911 billion representing 82.8 percent of the budget and a recurrent expenditure of N188 billion, representing 17.2 percent of the budget.<\/p>\n
2. President Muhammadu Buhari has called on security agencies and communities under threat of bandits\u2019 attacks and kidnappings to be more vigilant and alert in the light of the latest incidents in Enugu, Zamfara, Adamawa, Katsina and Kaduna States.<\/p>\n
Garba Shehu, his Spokesman said Buhari was reacting to the recent reports of heightened acts of violence and kidnappings after a period of relative inactivity in different parts of the country.<\/p>\n
3. The Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party has<\/p>\n
recommended the setting-up of a committee to probe the actions of PDP members which made the party to lose Kogi and Bayelsa states in the November 16 elections.<\/p>\n
The PDP BoT Chairman, Senator Walid Jibrin, in an interview with journalists in Abuja, said the BoT, during its meeting, noted the accusations and counter-accusations against its members.4. Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara State has vowed to arrest and appropriately deal with his predecessor, Abdulazedz Yari.<\/p>\n
5. The Coalition of Civil Society Election Observer Groups has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the results of the Nov. 16 governorship poll in Bayelsa and conduct a fresh election.<\/p>\n
The coalition Co-ordinator, Mr Olufemi Lawson, who made the call at a news conference on Thursday in Ikeja, said there were many proven cases of violence during the election as well as many cases of ballot snatching and stuffing.<\/p>\n
6. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Nov. 30 for the conduct of supplementary and re-run elections for Kogi West Senatorial District and Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, respectively.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Mr Festus Okoye, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, said the decision was taken at the meeting held on Thursday in Abuja.<\/p>\n
7. A Kano High Court presided over by Justice Usman Na\u2019Abba on Thursday, dissolved the four additional emirates and first class emirs created by the Kano State Government.<\/p>\n
Delivering the judgement, Justice Na\u2019abba said the Kano State House of Assembly had violated the provision of Section 101 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, (as amended), which allows the assembly to make laws.<\/p>\n
8. The President of the Senate, Dr Ahmad Lawan, on Thursday, said there was no request before the 9th Senate for the confirmation of the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu.<\/p>\n
Lawan made this known when Prof. Itse Sagay, Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption (PACAC), paid him a visit at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.<\/p>\n
9. Some aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress on Thursday marched to the party\u2019s national secretariat in Abuja to demand the sacking of the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.<\/p>\n
The protesters, under the aegis of \u2018APC Patriotic Stakeholders\u2019 Forum,\u2019 accused Oshiomhole of promoting disintegration in the party, especially in Edo State.<\/p>\n
10. A former governor of Niger, Dr Babangida Aliyu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel Saturday\u2019s governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states.<\/p>\n
