President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Nigeria Senate seeking an amendment to the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 1990 to preserve the powers of the Attorney-General\u2019s approval of business registration.<\/p>\n

President of the Senate, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan<\/a> reading the executive communication on Thursday, added that the amendment of the Act being sought by Mr President would drive the \u201cease of doing business for transparency and efficiency.\u201d<\/p>\n

Part of the letter states: \u201cIn line with Section 58 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended and section 26(5) of the Act, I wish to seek amendment of the Companies and Allied Matters Act. \u201d<\/p>\n

The proposed amendment sought by President Buhari would be laid for first reading at a later date in line with parliamentary practices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
