Sone Aluku reacted on Twitter after Rangers completed a move to sign Jermain Defoe on an 18-month loan deal from AFC Bournemouth – and fans reacted to Aluko’s Tweet by urging him to join Defoe back at Ibrox.<\/p>\n

Defoe, 36, has made the somewhat surprising move to join Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, which sees the veteran striker team up with his former England teammate once again.<\/p>\n

It sees the Gers now well-stocked in attack, with the club boasting Colombia international Alfredo Morelos, Ibrox favourite Kyle Lafferty and the 57-time England international as options.<\/p>\n

Aluko, who played for Rangers during 2011-12 and scored 12 goals in just 23 appearances for the Teddy Bears, reacted with a series of emojis after Rangers confirmed the capture of Defoe.<\/p>\n

Nigeria international Aluko, who currently turns out for English side\u00a0Reading<\/a>, is remembered most for scoring in a 3-2 win over Celtic back in March 2012 – as well as a hat-trick in his last appearance during a 4-0 win over St. Johnstone.<\/p>\n

He has a contract at the Madjeski Stadium until the summer of 2021, but has been in and out of the side – making just 14 league appearances this season.<\/p>\n

Rangers fans reacted to Aluko’s Tweet about Defoe by urging him to return to Ibrox from Reading, with many of the belief that he could still do a job north of the border.<\/p>\n
