{"id":193209,"date":"2026-02-01T17:08:42","date_gmt":"2026-02-01T16:08:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/maru-lg-ex-administrator-defects-from-pdp-to-apc-in-zamfara"},"modified":"2026-02-01T18:19:42","modified_gmt":"2026-02-01T17:19:42","slug":"maru-lg-ex-administrator-defects-from-pdp-to-apc-in-zamfara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/maru-lg-ex-administrator-defects-from-pdp-to-apc-in-zamfara","title":{"rendered":"Maru LG ex-administrator defects from PDP to APC in Zamfara"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The immediate past sole administrator of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Yusuf Bindin, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.<\/p>\n<p>Bindin was received into the APC by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, during a meeting held in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Confirming the development in a statement issued on Sunday in Gusau, the Zamfara State APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, said the former local government administrator joined the ruling party alongside his supporters.<\/p>\n<p>According to Idris, Bindin served as sole administrator of Maru Local Government Area for one year under the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal.<\/p>\n<p>He also previously served as Programme Manager of the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, under the PDP-led government in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Idris quoted Bindin as saying that his decision to leave the PDP followed consultations with his supporters and dissatisfaction with the performance of the PDP-led government in Zamfara.<\/p>\n<p>While receiving the defectors at his residence in Abuja, Matawalle welcomed them to the APC and urged them to contribute to the growth of the party in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The event was attended by the Zamfara State APC Chairman, Tukur Danfulani, among other party officials.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
