Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has stated that he is closely following events within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State.<\/p>\n

Wike explained that his attention to the situation is rooted in his concern for the continued existence and strength of the party, which previously governed at the federal level.<\/p>\n

He made this known on Monday in Abuja while addressing attendees at the PDP\u2019s 105th National Executive Committee meeting.<\/p>\n

According to him, his ongoing observation of developments in the Oyo State chapter is motivated by his commitment to seeing the party thrive.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me declare my interest clearly: I am interested in the survival and success of this party. I am also interested in all the happenings in Oyo State PDP. That is all I am interested in,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Wike also rejected allegations that PDP members were facing intimidation, insisting that such claims no longer held water following recent judicial outcomes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWho will intimidate us to the end? Some of us, by the grace of God, do not see what anyone can threaten us with.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe legal battle has collapsed. They have no option but to recognise the Caretaker Committee,\u201d Wike said.<\/p>\n

His comment comes amid the fallout with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State. The former allies fell out and joined different factions.<\/p>\n

Last year November, Makinde and Governor Bala Mohammed-led faction conducted a national convention that was later annulled by the Federal High Court in Oyo State.<\/p>\n
