Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Director General of the Nigeria\u2013China Strategic Partnership, NCSP, Dr Joseph Tegbe has said that the China\u2019s economic transformation was not accidental but the outcome of deliberate policy choices anchored on focus, standardization and consistent execution.<\/p>\n

He stressed the need for Nigeria to imbibe discipline, scale and long-term thinking as critical pillars for sustainable enterprise development in Nigeria, drawing from China\u2019s national development experience as a practical blueprint for economic growth.<\/p>\n

Tegbe made the remark during his presentation titled \u201cHacking Your Personal Economic Growth: Lessons from China\u2019s National Development Journey,\u201d delivered at a 3-day capacity-building seminar with the theme \u201cLeveraging Chinese Partnerships to Scale Nigerian Businesses, organized as part of NCSP\u2019s ongoing efforts to promote structured knowledge exchange and enterprise-focused learning.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the session, Tegbe noted that China\u2019s economic transformation was not accidental, but the outcome of deliberate policy choices anchored on focus, standardization and consistent execution.<\/p>\n

He highlighted China\u2019s pragmatic approach to innovation, observing that many Chinese small and medium enterprises began by adapting existing products, proven business models and imported technologies before introducing incremental improvements.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that Chinese enterprises excel by mastering a single product or service, replicating it efficiently, and innovating incrementally based on proven models.<\/p>\n

The NCSP also underscored the role of collaboration, noting that Chinese businesses frequently grow within industrial clusters that share infrastructure, suppliers and labour, thereby reducing costs and enhancing productivity.<\/p>\n

Tegbe drew attention to the centrality of discipline in enterprise growth, describing it as China\u2019s most enduring competitive advantage.<\/p>\n

He explained that Chinese entrepreneurs reinvest profits aggressively into machinery, inventory and process efficiency, while maintaining modest lifestyles during early growth phases.<\/p>\n

He added that rigorous cost control, accurate financial tracking and a clear understanding of unit economics are essential to sustaining profitability and achieving scale.<\/p>\n

Tegbe urged Nigerian entrepreneurs to prioritize technical competence, market-driven growth, export readiness, and patient, long-term strategies over short-term hustle.<\/p>\n

He reaffirmed NCSP\u2019s commitment to translating Nigeria\u2013China cooperation into practical outcomes that enhance productivity, enterprise development, and economic self-reliance.<\/p>\n

The Nigeria\u2013China Strategic Partnership remains focused on strengthening bilateral collaboration between Nigeria and China across trade, investment, technology transfer, infrastructure development and capacity building, with the overarching objective of delivering measurable and lasting value to the Nigerian economy.<\/p>\n
