Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, faction loyal to former Rivers State Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has appointed a caretaker committee for the party in Plateau State as part of a major reorganisation of its structures ahead of the 2027 political cycle.<\/p>\n

A statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the National Caretaker Working Committee, NCWC, of the faction, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, on Thursday, disclosed that the 13-man committee which has Dr Gideon Nandem Tyem as Chairman and Goje A. Hirfo as the Secretary, is charged with the responsibility of managing the affairs of the party in the state.<\/p>\n

Mohammed added that the move was taken pursuant to constitutional provisions empowering the committee to manage state chapters pending the emergence of new executives.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, the restructuring is crucial to the party\u2019s rebuilding strategy, with the new caretaker committee mandated to oversee operations and stabilize internal structures during the transition period.<\/p>\n

The statement emphasized that the temporary caretaker arrangement, is intended to run for a limited tenure pending the constitution of fresh state executive committees.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe tenure of these committees shall be for 30 days, or until such a time as a new Executive Committee is elected,\u201d it read.<\/p>\n

Mohammed added that the appointments take immediate effect, with the newly named chairmen and secretaries expected to assume responsibilities across the affected state chapters as the reorganisation begins.<\/p>\n
