{"id":194228,"date":"2026-02-09T23:03:44","date_gmt":"2026-02-09T22:03:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/inec-denied-registration-to-green-future-party"},"modified":"2026-02-10T00:11:17","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T23:11:17","slug":"inec-denied-registration-to-green-future-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/inec-denied-registration-to-green-future-party","title":{"rendered":"Inec Denied Registration to Green Future Party"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Green Future Party, GDP, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, of denying it registration despite meeting all requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The Interim National Chairman of the party, Adefolaseye Adebayo, made this allegation on Monday in an interview on Arise Television.<\/p>\n<p>GFP was one of several political associations that applied for registration with INEC in 2025-2026, alongside other groups like the All Democratic Alliance, ADA, and Citizens Democratic Alliance, CDA.<\/p>\n<p>However, as of February 2026, the GFP did not secure final registration<\/p>\n<p>Reacting, Adebayo said, \u201cINEC failed to act in line with its own guidelines. We met every requirement for party registration, were verified physically, and were even told by INEC officials that we performed excellently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYet, after the statutory 60 days elapsed, INEC turned around to claim we did not comply with conditions we had already fulfilled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think there\u2019s a political undertone. INEC gave criteria which is just like a list.
