Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared war on insecurity, warning that terrorism and banditry must be crushed if Nigeria\u2019s Renewed Hope development agenda is to translate into real economic growth and national stability.<\/p>\n

Tinubu gave the charge while opening the Second National Economic Council, NEC, Conference at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, where state governors, federal officials, and development partners gathered to shape the Renewed Hope National Development Plan 2026\u20132030.<\/p>\n

He explained that Nigeria\u2019s security threats are alien to the nation\u2019s core values, while assuring Nigerians that his administration is strengthening the country\u2019s security architecture to reclaim troubled communities and restore investor confidence.<\/p>\n

He also stressed that the success of the new development plan depends largely on states and local governments, describing them as the real drivers of implementation.<\/p>\n

According to him, \u201cThe next phase of Nigeria\u2019s development journey will be shaped at the grassroots, where policies must translate into jobs, food security, and inclusive growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tinubu also described the Renewed Hope National Development Plan as Nigeria\u2019s next major policy pathway, adding that effective action plans at the sub-national level will be complemented by federal government support to accelerate national growth.<\/p>\n

Vice President Kashim Shettima, who chairs the National Economic Council, emphasized the need for coordinated economic planning between federal and state governments and development partners to achieve fiscal stability and investment expansion.<\/p>\n

Shettima also stated, \u201cThe plan provides a comprehensive framework for repositioning Nigeria\u2019s economy while ensuring that development benefits reach ordinary Nigerians.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Second NEC Conference is expected to align federal and state priorities, deepen collaboration, and deliver practical strategies for inclusive and sustainable development.<\/p>\n
