Wakili, known on X as @IU_Wakilii, questioned the mention of assets in the proposal.

“The US wants to visa ban RMK and freeze his assets (I doubt if he has any) simply because he is singing music they do not like. All of a sudden, he is now being labeled a Fulani ethnic militia figure,” he wrote.

He added, “Any leader who stands for the best interest of Northern Nigeria, they will always find a way to brand him and push a narrative against him. We are familiar with this script.”

Wakili also argued that the reference to assets was deliberate: “They were intentional when they mentioned ‘assets.’ They know the man does not have any assets in the US, but the aim was never accuracy; it was to plant an idea in your head. Once that word is out there, suspicion follows. That is how narratives are created. Don’t fall for it.”

In another post, he said, “This is how manipulation works: you introduce a loaded term, repeat it often enough, and hope people connect dots that do not even exist. We need to be smarter than that.”

He went further to criticise the US lawmaker behind the bill, saying, “Any Nigerian that these ‘white supremacist’ hypocrites are against, I will fully support him.”

Wakili also referenced past controversies in the US, stating, “Riley did not say anything about the Epstein files when the whole world was talking about how horrible his greedy pedophilic godfathers are… suddenly he has a voice now because he and they have a target.”

On Facebook, Amir Abdullahi Kima defended Kwankwaso, writing in Hausa that the former Kano governor “is not a terrorist and has no link to terrorism.”

“It is unfortunate that the US Congress is trying to link him with terrorism in order to sanction him,” he wrote.

Kima added, “If we are to speak the truth, there is no political leader in Nigeria who has shown love for peace and respect for religions like Senator Kwankwaso.”

He also noted that despite political differences with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kwankwaso was among the first politicians to show support for Nigeria and the president following the US allegations of killings of Christians.

Another supporter, Yawan Sani Kawo, said, “This is why we love Kwankwaso. Anyone America criticises is usually someone who stands for truth and defends his religion.”

He added, “That is why we will not stop supporting Kwankwaso. He plays an important role in standing for what he believes is right.”

Reactions are still pouring in, with Kwankwaso, Kwankwasiyya groups, and the NNPP yet to comment on the matter.

For More News And Analysis About Nigeria Follow Africa-Press

Africa-Press – Nigeria.
