{"id":195068,"date":"2026-02-15T09:46:44","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T08:46:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/tension-in-rivers-as-wheelbarrow-pusher-stabs-trader"},"modified":"2026-02-15T10:54:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T09:54:14","slug":"tension-in-rivers-as-wheelbarrow-pusher-stabs-trader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/tension-in-rivers-as-wheelbarrow-pusher-stabs-trader","title":{"rendered":"Tension in Rivers as Wheelbarrow Pusher Stabs Trader"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>There was pandemonium at the Fruit Market, Oil Mill, Rumuokwurusi, Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Saturday following the killing of a trader, an indigene of Mbagel Village, Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State, identified as Higightor Wenem.<\/p>\n<p>CSP Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, made the incident known to journalists in a statement on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that the trader, while attempting to create space for his goods in the market, asked a wheelbarrow pusher identified as Zakara Afaaruwu to shift his wheelbarrow that was obstructing his goods.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect, however, declined, leading to a heated argument that led to the death of the trader.<\/p>\n<p>The argument, according to the police, subsequently escalated and the wheelbarrow pusher stabbed the victim with a dagger.<\/p>\n<p>The PPRO said the trader was immediately rushed to the Military Hospital for medical attention but he was \u201cconfirmed dead by the medical Doctor\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She said the suspect is currently in custody and investigation is still ongoing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
