{"id":196113,"date":"2026-02-24T22:11:35","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T21:11:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/lagos-govt-releases-new-brt-fares"},"modified":"2026-02-24T23:18:41","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T22:18:41","slug":"lagos-govt-releases-new-brt-fares","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/lagos-govt-releases-new-brt-fares","title":{"rendered":"Lagos govt releases new BRT fares"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has released the new BRT fares following the fare increment on Monday 23rd, February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The new Fares was revealed on Tuesday, by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and will take effect from Monday, March 2nd 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The price increment decision was approved by Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, following appeals from regulated public transport operators who raised concerns about the rising cost of running their services.<\/p>\n<p>The state government has earlier explained that the increase is meant to reduce the pressure on public transport operators caused by ongoing economic challenges.
