{"id":196197,"date":"2026-02-26T11:18:45","date_gmt":"2026-02-26T10:18:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/police-seize-illicit-drugs-hidden-in-delta-truck"},"modified":"2026-02-26T12:23:02","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T11:23:02","slug":"police-seize-illicit-drugs-hidden-in-delta-truck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/police-seize-illicit-drugs-hidden-in-delta-truck","title":{"rendered":"Police Seize Illicit Drugs Hidden in Delta Truck"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have recovered 1,520 packets of Tramadol and Swinol tablets.<\/p>\n<p>The large quantity of the illicit substances was carefully concealed beneath company machines inside a truck.<\/p>\n<p>Operatives of the Eagle Net Special Squad, while on routine stop-and-search duty along the Asaba\u2013Agbor Expressway near Northwest Filling Station, intercepted a white J5 bus with registration number 7BGT 60LG.<\/p>\n<p>SP Bright Edafe, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed that:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn 13 February 2026 at about 2230hrs, a thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe driver, Ebuka Dominion, 30 years old, from Aguata LGA of Anambra State, and the motor boy, Emmanuel Terdule, 30 years old, from Katsina-Ala LGA of Benue State, were arrested at the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Edafe said preliminary investigation revealed that the consignment was intended for distribution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cActing on information obtained during interrogation, operatives arrested Peter Etim Akpan, 47 years old, from Nibiaya, Uruan LGA of Akwa Ibom State, alleged to be the owner of the drugs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Edafe confirmed that investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the syndicate, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The command also recorded other significant operational successes in separate intelligence-led operations aimed at curbing violent crimes within the state.<\/p>\n<p>This is coming as the police arrested a suspected armed robber\/cultist, just as they recovered a gun and intercepted illicit drugs.<\/p>\n<p>Edafe further said, \u201cOn 22 February 2026 at about 1520hrs, operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team acted on credible intelligence regarding a suspect linked to a series of robberies within the Warri metropolis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing coordinated surveillance, the team arrested Collins Darlington, 23 years old, of Ughewughe community in Ughelli South LGA, at the Otor Uweku area of Ughelli town.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring interrogation, the suspect led operatives to a bush in the Jedo area of Warri where a locally made gun concealed in the ground was recovered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect confessed to being a member of the Aye Confraternity and admitted involvement in several door-to-door robbery incidents within Warri.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEfforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the criminal gang identified in the course of investigation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
