Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Lere Olayinka, spokesman to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has declared that the minister\u2019s victory in last Saturday\u2019s elections is the loss of the opposition, especially the African Democratic Congress, ADC.<\/p>\n

Olayinka made the remark while reacting to the elections in the FCT and Rivers State.<\/p>\n

Posting on Facebook, Olayinka said the minister demonstrated purpose during the elections, pointing to the victory of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the two Rivers State House of Assembly seats contested in the by-election as evidence of his political strength.<\/p>\n

According to him, the outcome of the elections underscored Wike\u2019s political mettle and reaffirmed the dominance of the ruling party.<\/p>\n

Olayinka said Wike described the poll results as a clear statement on the standing of \u201cthe ruling party and the real opposition,\u201d asserting that the outcome reflected the current political realities.<\/p>\n

Wike also challenged members of the ADC-led coalition to reassess their strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections, suggesting they should reconsider their political ambitions in light of the latest results.<\/p>\n

Olayinka wrote: \u201cWike deserves the accolade because he showed class and purpose in the polls in FCT and Rivers. APC cleared the two House of Assembly seats contested for in the Rivers by-election. How else can a politician prove his mettle?<\/p>\n

\u201cWike\u2019s victory is the loss of the opposition, especially ADC. Trust him to rub it in. He said the outcome of the poll was a clearcut statement on the status and stature of \u201cthe ruling party and the real opposition\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was in his usual manner needling and calling out the ADC \u2018coalitionists\u2019 to see the handwriting on the wall ahead of the 2027 elections, and give up the fight. I do not think they will give him the joy of being called chicken-hearted.\u201d<\/p>\n
