The Kano State House of Assembly on Tuesday swore in two newly elected lawmakers who won their seats in recent by-elections across the state.<\/p>\n
The Speaker of the House, Jibril Isma\u2019il Falgore, presided over the ceremony, which formally welcomed Sa\u2019adu Aminu Sa\u2019adu, representing Ungogo constituency, and Nabil Aliyu Sarki Daneji, representing Kano Municipal constituency.<\/p>\n
Both lawmakers contested and won their seats under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n
Their victories followed by-elections held to fill vacancies created by the deaths of their fathers in December last year.<\/p>\n
The elections were conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as part of supplementary polls in the affected constituencies.<\/p>\n
After taking the oath of office, Sa\u2019adu expressed gratitude to his constituents in Ungogo for granting him the mandate to represent them.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will work tirelessly for the progress of Ungogo and defend the interests of the people who entrusted me with this responsibility,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
