Armed bandits have launched an assault on a Civil Protection Guard checkpoint in Abaji Town, located in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, leaving one person dead and two others injured, security sources said.<\/p>\n
The victim, 43-year-old Aondohemba Kavee, was fatally shot during the incident on March 4, 2026.<\/p>\n
Two other individuals Orgase Nyikya and a passerby identified as Tyolumum Tsenong, also suffered gunshot wounds in the attack.<\/p>\n
Both injured victims were taken to Katsina-Ala General Hospital for medical attention, while Kavee\u2019s body was moved to the hospital\u2019s mortuary.<\/p>\n
Following the incident, troops of the Nigerian Army alongside other security operatives quickly moved to the scene, secured the area, and arrested two suspects believed to be involved in the attack.<\/p>\n
