Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prince Emmanuel Odigie, has urged President Bola Tinubu\u2019s supporters to make a shift in political messaging ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying the current administration\u2019s mandate is gradually winding down and should give way to discussions on renewal.<\/p>\n

Odigie made the remarks on Thursday while speaking on Arise Television\u2019s Morning Show, where he reacted to Tinubu\u2019s recent visit to the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

He described the trip as a positive step, expressing hope that it would strengthen bilateral relations and yield tangible economic benefits for Nigeria.<\/p>\n

According to him, such foreign engagements should go beyond ceremonial activities and translate into concrete outcomes, particularly in attracting investment into the country.<\/p>\n

He stressed the need for signed agreements and memoranda of understanding to be promptly implemented rather than abandoned.<\/p>\n

Odigie added that the government must clearly communicate its achievements and outline convincing reasons for re-election, emphasising that voters would expect accountability and visible progress as the current mandate nears its end.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI think the President\u2019s visit to the United Kingdom is a welcome development, and it\u2019s our hope that they are able to facilitate good bilateral relations with the United Kingdom, not just the fun fair.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey should be able to attract investment home. You know, such visits are always a plus for Nigeria, if well managed, and not just the fun fair, not just have an agreement, come back home and dump the agreement on the shelf. We want to see MoUs signed and work, they should hit the ground running right away.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, for me, Nigerians singing \u2018On Your Mandate We stand\u2019, the mandate is almost coming to an end. They should begin to sing, you know, the renewal of the mandate.<\/p>\n

\u201cMandate renewal is what we want to hear. The mandate that was given in 2023 is almost expiring. So we want to hear more about how, what has been done, and why Nigerians should renew his mandate.\u201d<\/p>\n
