{"id":198308,"date":"2026-04-03T20:43:26","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T19:43:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/apc-criticizes-makinde-for-crowning-high-chiefs-obas"},"modified":"2026-04-03T21:51:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T20:51:13","slug":"apc-criticizes-makinde-for-crowning-high-chiefs-obas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/parties\/apc-criticizes-makinde-for-crowning-high-chiefs-obas","title":{"rendered":"APC Criticizes Makinde for Crowning High Chiefs Obas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Oyo State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, of making mockery of the Yoruba traditional institution.<\/p>\n<p>The party made the accusation while reacting to the elevation of three high chiefs to the position of Oba in Ibadanland.<\/p>\n<p>The State government had on Friday coronated three High Chiefs as Obas.<\/p>\n<p>The affected individuals are High Chief Akeem Adewoyh Chief Kola Babalola and High Chief Sharafadeen Alli.<\/p>\n<p>Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, is one of the gubernatorial aspirants on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC.<\/p>\n<p>The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, the three individuals and some notable indigenes of Ibadanland were absent at the event.<\/p>\n<p>APC in its reaction, said Makinde has written a bad page for himself in the history of the state.<\/p>\n<p>In the statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Sadare, the APC said, \u201cGov.
