{"id":199202,"date":"2026-04-20T18:04:18","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T17:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/wike-backed-pdp-holds-first-nec-meeting-after-unsealing"},"modified":"2026-04-20T19:54:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T18:54:08","slug":"wike-backed-pdp-holds-first-nec-meeting-after-unsealing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/wike-backed-pdp-holds-first-nec-meeting-after-unsealing","title":{"rendered":"Wike-Backed PDP Holds First NEC Meeting After Unsealing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will on Monday (today) hold a National Executive Committee meeting, NEC, at its headquarters in Abuja, following the unsealing of the secretariat last week.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST recalls that the party\u2019s secretariat was sealed in November last year after a violent clash between the Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee of the party and the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led caretaker committee, who were both laying claims to the party\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n<p>An Appeal Court judgment in March, however, invalidated the Ibadan convention that produced the Turaki-led PDP leadership, a judgment the Abdulrahman-led PDP, which is heavily backed by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, relied upon to conduct the Abuja convention.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting today is expected to be attended by all members of NEC who are on the side of the Mohammed-led PDP, including the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, among others.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
