Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has assured the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) of his administration\u2019s commitment to fulfilling its statutory obligations to the scheme.<\/p>\n

The governor gave the assurance during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch \u2018A\u2019 Stream II corps members deployed to the state for the mandatory one-year national service.<\/p>\n

Mohammed said Bauchi State remains supportive of the objectives of the NYSC, noting that his administration would continue to collaborate with the scheme to ensure its smooth operation.<\/p>\n

He described the NYSC programme as an important platform for national development and urged corps members to take their service year seriously.<\/p>\n

The governor encouraged them to embrace the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the growth of their host communities and the country at large.<\/p>\n

He also advised corps members to make good use of the orientation exercise and uphold the trust reposed in them by the nation.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Umoren Kufre, commended the governor for his support for the scheme, particularly the renovation of corps members\u2019 hostels and the construction of a multipurpose hall at the orientation camp.<\/p>\n

Kufre also appreciated the state government for repairing damaged sections of the camp\u2019s perimeter fence, which he said had posed security concerns.<\/p>\n

He noted that the intervention had improved safety at the camp and demonstrated the government\u2019s commitment to the welfare of corps members.<\/p>\n

The coordinator disclosed that about 1,700 corps members were posted to Bauchi State for the service year, expressing confidence that they would undertake community development projects that would benefit their host communities.<\/p>\n

The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Justice Aliyu Idris, who represented the Chief Judge of Bauchi State, Justice Rabi Talatu.<\/p>\n
