The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has challenged the Nigerian Army to channel its antagonism to the \u2018Islamic terrorist bandits\u2019 ravaging northern and western Nigeria.<\/p>\n
The leader of MASSOB, Comrade Uchenna Madu, threw this challenge in a statement on Friday, in reaction to the Nigeria Army\u2019s alleged move against Biafra Day anniversary.<\/p>\n
The group alleged that the 82 Division of Nigeria Army, Enugu had declared its directives to churches in Biafra land to observe memorial services and prayers for the victims of the 1967-70 genocide committed against the Biafrans as irresponsible and provocative.<\/p>\n
MASSOB stated that the Nigerian army should cover its faces in shame for not declaring the terrorist activities of Islamic bandits as provocative or illegitimate.<\/p>\n
The group, however, advised churches in Biafra land to disregard the statements of the Nigerian Army, urging them not to allow themselves to be defeated by the devil.<\/p>\n
It also blasted the Nigeria Army that its provocative tendencies against MASSOB will never push them to violence or arms struggle, stressing that the army is jittery and uncomfortable with the reality of Biafra actualization and restoration.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet the Nigerian army channel their antagonism to Islamic terrorist bandits ravaging northern and western Nigeria.<\/p>\n
\u201cIs it because MASSOB is a non violence movement? Is it because we have never carried arms against Nigeria? Is it because we choose to conform our activities to the international standard of self determination activism?<\/p>\n
\u201cThe foundation of MASSOB is rooted on the principles of non violence. We have never killed or repaid the Nigeria security agencies for the extra judicial killings of our non violence members because we believe in non violence self determination struggle.<\/p>\n
\u201cTomorrow is the 59th anniversary celebration of Biafra declaration by Gen Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. Biafrans are enjoined to commemorate the exercise with sit at home observance.<\/p>\n
