All who participated in that tragedy should at least say \u2018I am sorry\u2019,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>His comment followed reports highlighting ongoing investigations, prosecutions and asset forfeiture proceedings involving former public officials, including ex-Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele, former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, former Accountant-General of the Federation Ahmed Idris, former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika, former Minister of Power Saleh Mamman, and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.<\/p>\n<p>The cases, which are being handled by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, involve allegations of corruption, money laundering, contract fraud and diversion of public funds running into hundreds of billions of naira.<\/p>\n<p>While some of the accused persons are still standing trial, others have denied the allegations, and the matters remain before the courts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Nigeria<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
