{"id":20525,"date":"2020-01-26T15:59:55","date_gmt":"2020-01-26T15:59:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/?p=20525"},"modified":"2020-01-26T15:59:55","modified_gmt":"2020-01-26T15:59:55","slug":"nlng-signs-10-year-gas-deal-with-total","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/economy\/nlng-signs-10-year-gas-deal-with-total","title":{"rendered":"NLNG signs 10-year gas deal with Total"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas has signed a deal with French energy group Total for 1.5 million tonnes of LNG per year, the African producer said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement is for 10 years, with volumes to be supplied to Total from trains 1, 2 and 3 of the Nigeria LNG plant at Bonny.<\/p>\n<p>The deal is in line with Nigeria LNG\u2019s \u201cdrive to continue to deliver LNG globally in consolidation of its position as one of the top-ranking LNG suppliers in the world\u201d, the company said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe deliveries under the agreement will commence October 2021,\u201d said an NLNG spokeswoman.<\/p>\n<p>An company spokeswoman was not immediately available to comment on when the deal would begin.<\/p>\n<p>Nigeria LNG has been remarketing some volumes from its existing trains as some contracts approach expiry.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s contracts with Turkey\u2019s Botas, Portugal\u2019s Galp Energia, Spain\u2019s Naturgy and Total for a total of 2.67 million tonnes a year will expire in 2020 and 2021, according to the International Group of LNG Importers (GIIGNL).<\/p>\n<p>Nigeria LNG is a joint venture between the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Shell, Total and Eni.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas has signed a deal with French energy group Total for 1.5 million tonnes of LNG per year, the African producer said on Wednesday.
