The Police have arrested twenty-four suspected cultists during initiations of new members at the Ashaka area in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.<\/p>\n

21 of the 24 suspects were from Ughelli community, DAILY POST can report.<\/p>\n

The suspects had just arrived in Ashaka from Ubulu-Okiti when Police arrested them based on information.<\/p>\n

When contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammed Hafiz Inuwa confirmed the report in a telephone chat with our correspondent on Sunday.<\/p>\n

CP Inuwa said, \u201cThey went there for initiation. Six of them were confirmed, cultists. Six were to be initiated and twelve others were arrested. Those who had nothing to do with them were released unconditionally.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwenty-four of them were arrested. Twelve were released because they have no hand in the initiations and cult matters.\u201d<\/p>\n
