Chairman of Edo State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Oyonude Kure, on Monday escaped losing his second term bid with one vote.<\/p>\n

Last month, Edo CAN was enmeshed in crisis when some members rejected a vote of confidence passed on the Kure- led executives to continue in office unopposed.<\/p>\n

After the election amidst tension, Kure and his executives won by scored 27 votes to continue in office.<\/p>\n

26 members voted that they should leave office.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the election, South-South chairman of the association, Archbishop Ige Ayokunle, urged Kure to see his re-election as the will of God.<\/p>\n

Ige said lack of communication in Edo CAN caused friction in the association.<\/p>\n
