{"id":21994,"date":"2020-02-28T18:10:21","date_gmt":"2020-02-28T18:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/?p=21994"},"modified":"2020-02-28T18:10:21","modified_gmt":"2020-02-28T18:10:21","slug":"women-boil-used-sanitary-pads-to-get-high-ndlea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/women-boil-used-sanitary-pads-to-get-high-ndlea","title":{"rendered":"Women boil used sanitary pads to get high \u2013 NDLEA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Investigation has proved that some women in Gombe State boil used sanitary pads and drink it to get high.<\/p>\n<p>Gombe State command of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, disclosed this during a sensitization program in Bajoga area of the state.<\/p>\n<p>The commander in charge of the Funakaye command of the agency, Muhammad Alkali, said the sensitisation campaign was to enlighten the people on the fight against illicit drugs abuse.<\/p>\n<p>Lamenting, Alkali urged the society to help the agency in the fight against the use of illicit drugs.<\/p>\n<p>She said \u201cIt has come to our notice that mostly female addicts have devised means of getting high without consuming constitutionally known substances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNowadays, they now boil used sanitary pads mixed with other substance mostly waste then filter the water before drinking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is very bad for humans, our society really needs the help of all and sundry in this fight as NDLEA cannot do it alone,\u201d Alkali lamented.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Investigation has proved that some women in Gombe State boil used sanitary pads and drink it to get high.
