The Senate on Thursday approved President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s request to borrow $22.7 billion despite objection from some Senators.<\/p>\n

Buhari, in 2019 had sent the loan request to the senate but was rejected by the Upper Legislative Chamber under the leadership of Bukola Saraki.<\/p>\n

However, during today\u2019s plenary, Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe cautioned against considering all recommendations on the loan request at once.<\/p>\n

Abaribe stated that the Senate should consider the recommendations \u201citem by item\u201d, but his suggestion was dismissed by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.<\/p>\n
