{"id":22582,"date":"2020-03-14T17:19:13","date_gmt":"2020-03-14T17:19:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/?p=22582"},"modified":"2020-03-14T17:19:13","modified_gmt":"2020-03-14T17:19:13","slug":"shehu-sani-warns-sanusi-against-going-into-politics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/shehu-sani-warns-sanusi-against-going-into-politics","title":{"rendered":"Shehu Sani warns Sanusi against going into politics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Senator Shehu Sani, a former representative of Kaduna Central senatorial district at the Senate, has warned Sanusi Lamido Sanusi against joining politics ahead of 2023 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>Just few days after his dethronement, rumours are already flying about that the former Emir of Kano may replace President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n<p>Muhammadu Lamido Sanusi II was dethroned by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Few hours later, the erstwhile monarch was banished and detained in a village in Nasarawa State.<\/p>\n<p>He, however, regained his freedom yesterday after Justice Anwuli Chikere of an Abuja Federal High Court ordered his immediate release.<\/p>\n<p>The judge gave the ruling after listening to Sanusi\u2019s lawyer, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) and ordered that the deposed Emir\u2019s freedom of rights must be respected.<\/p>\n<p>In a post he shared on Twitter and directed to the ex-Emir, Shehu Sani said, \u201cRest well in the comfort of your family without the burden and the lice of the turban and the gown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAvoid individuals and groups trying to drag you into partisan politics and avoid being used as a ladder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIts enough being a hero, they should look for a martyr elsewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senator Shehu Sani, a former representative of Kaduna Central senatorial district at the Senate, has warned Sanusi Lamido Sanusi against joining politics ahead of 2023 presidential election.
