{"id":23070,"date":"2020-03-26T15:54:50","date_gmt":"2020-03-26T15:54:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/?p=23070"},"modified":"2020-03-26T15:54:50","modified_gmt":"2020-03-26T15:54:50","slug":"efcc-forces-contractor-to-complete-n305m-abandoned-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/efcc-forces-contractor-to-complete-n305m-abandoned-projects","title":{"rendered":"EFCC forces contractor to complete N305m abandoned projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Africa Press-Nigeria:<\/p>\n<p>The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has supervised the completion of two abandoned projects awarded to Fariq Interbiz Limited.<\/p>\n<p>The projects were worth N305,000,000 and located in Wasagu and Dirin-Daji communities of Kebbi State.<\/p>\n<p>The intervention followed a whistleblower\u2019s information that the Federal Ministry of Water Resources awarded the contracts to the company to construct two water supply units in the communities.<\/p>\n<p>EFCC, in a statement on Thursday by its spokesman, Tony Orilade, said the contractor, having received a reasonable percentage of the total contract sum, abandoned the project uncompleted.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that The Tax Fraud Section of the commission then began investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis compelled the contractor to return to site to complete both projects which include wells, piping, reservoir purchase and control houses\u201d, the agency said.<\/p>\n<p>EFCC added that one Toyota Hilux vehicle was recovered in the course of investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle has been handed over to the Ministry of Water Resources for official use, being the purpose for which it was procured.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa Press-Nigeria: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has supervised the completion of two abandoned projects awarded to Fariq Interbiz Limited.
