Former Governor of Ekiti State, Segun Oni, Friday expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti.<\/p>\n

Oni, who stated this in statement signed by the Director-General of his political organisation, \u201cAtunse Ekiti Movement,\u201d Dr. Ife Arowosoge, said the defeat would be similar to that of 2014 when governor Kayode Fayemi lost to ex-governor Ayo Fayose in that year\u2019s governorship poll.<\/p>\n

The former Ekiti governorship dumped the APC for the PDP a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n

The statement read: \u201cThe same culture of arrogance has been exhibited against me and this has pushed me to return to the PDP, contrary to APC\u2019s position that I did so for selfish interests.\u201d<\/p>\n

Oni also reacted to a statement credited to the APC Chairman in Ekiti State, Paul Omotoso, who allegedly claimed the ex-governor was regarded as a nominal member throughout his stay in the party.<\/p>\n

The statement added: \u201cSuch uncouth utterance further confirmed APC\u2019s recklessness, lawlessness and disregard for perceived enemies.<\/p>\n
