Kwara State Government has discharged seven people who were infected with coronavirus in the state after recovering from the disease.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m glad to announce to you that we have discharged two of our four confirmed covid -19 cases in Kwara,\u201d Abdulrazaq tweeted.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis was done after they both twice tested negative.\u201d<\/p>\n
The governor also also disclosed that five other people who have tested negative twice to the coronavirus.<\/p>\n
These other five people, Abdulrazaq said, are family members of the confirmed cases who \u201cwere taken to a different part of the isolation centre out of abundance of caution.\u201d<\/p>\n
With the discharge of the seven persons, the governor said 11 persons are left in the facility.<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo of these 11 are COVID-19 patients while the remaining nine are people who haven\u2019t tested positive but have had varying contacts with the confirmed cases,\u201d Abdulrazaq said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey are all doing pretty good, and we wish the remaining two patients quick recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n
Abdulrazaq noted that the recoveries is a testament that COVID-19 is not a death sentence.<\/p>\n
He, however, warned members of the public against stigmatising the coronavirus survivors.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will punish anyone who stigmatises any of our patients or members of their families,\u201d Ad<\/p>\n
He commended all health workers in the state and residents for their support to the government in containing coronavirus in Kwara State.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
