The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on Sunday supervised the demolition of two hotels in the state for violating a lockdown order put in place by the state government.<\/p>\n
Prodest Hotel, Eleme and Etemeteh Hotel, Onne have both been pulled down. The governor had imposed a lockdown and directed all hotels in the state to shut immediately in order to curtail the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus.<\/p>\n
The demolition started by about 11:58 AM today, May 10, 2020, when a Bulldozer moved into the facility of Prodest hotel, bringing the entire structure to rubble.<\/p>\n
The governor had warned residents that failure to comply with the order would attract stiff penalties. It will be recalled that a few days ago, the governor intercepted trucks carrying cows and several passengers into the state.<\/p>\n
