President Muhammadu Buhari has just concluded a meeting with Akinwunmi Adesina, President of the Africa Development Bank (AFDB).<\/p>\n
In attendance was the Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari.<\/p>\n
The Ministers of Finance, Zainab Ahmed and Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, were also present.<\/p>\n
At the end of the parley, Adesina declined an interview with reporters.<\/p>\n
The AfDB president faces opposition to his re-election by the United States.<\/p>\n
The Department of Treasury had called for an independent investigation of Adesina.<\/p>\n
But this was after he was cleared by the bank\u2019s ethics committee.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, President Julius Maad Bio of Sierra Leone assured the Nigerian of his support and his country\u2019s.<\/p>\n
Earlier, former African leaders led by Olusegun Obasanjo backed Adesina.<\/p>\n
