A Magistrates\u2019 Court sitting in Warri, Delta state has remanded a cleric, Bishop Elijah Orhonigbe, at the Nigeria Correctional Service, Warri, for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl (name withheld).<\/p>\n
Orhonigbe is the Founder\/General Overseer of Victory Revival Fasting and Ministry, Warri.<\/p>\n
The victim is said to be a daughter of one his church members.<\/p>\n
Magistrate Ejiro Diejomaoh ordered the remand of the accused pending legal counsel from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).<\/p>\n
The Magistrate noted that in the advent that there was no space at the custodial centre, the defendant should be remanded at the \u2018A\u2019 Divisional Police Station, Warri.<\/p>\n
Diejomaoh consequently adjourned the case to July 24 for mention.<\/p>\n
The Police prosecutor, SP Vincent Orawemen, had told the court that the defendant allegedly raped the 19-year old on May 20.<\/p>\n
