{"id":26547,"date":"2020-06-22T16:29:33","date_gmt":"2020-06-22T16:29:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/?p=26547"},"modified":"2020-06-22T16:29:50","modified_gmt":"2020-06-22T16:29:50","slug":"buhari-assured-us-apc-crisis-will-soon-be-addressed-progressives-govs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/buhari-assured-us-apc-crisis-will-soon-be-addressed-progressives-govs","title":{"rendered":"Buhari assured us APC crisis will soon be addressed \u2014Progressives govs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) on Monday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja and presented their position on the leadership crisis rocking the party to him.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the PGF and the governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, disclosed this to State House Correspondents after meeting with President Buhari.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Bagudu, who was in the company of the governors of Plateau and Jigawa States; Simon Lalong and Abubakar Badaru, also indicated the support of the President for the convening of meetings by all necessary organs for the purposes of finding peace for the party.<\/p>\n<p>Bagudu said President Buhari gave the APC governors the assurances that all necessary steps to restore peace and cohesion back to the party would be taken.<\/p>\n<p>He said further that though the President would not break ranks and force his will down the party leadership\u2019s throat, he said he was abreast with all the developments within the party and was willing to make the moves that will calm the storms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reason for our visit is to discuss with him as our party leader, as the leader that millions of Nigerians trust, to discuss party issues and the position of the Progressive Governors to support all steps to unify and bring about peaceful resolution in our party, the All Progressives Congress.<\/p>\n<p>Bagudu told State House correspondents after leading some of his colleagues to the meeting, that Buhari listened attentively to them.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe reason for our visit is to discuss with the President, as our party leader and as the leader that millions of Nigerians trust, to discuss party issues and the position of the Progressive Governors to support all steps to unify and bring about peaceful resolution in our party, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripplesnigeria.com\/tag\/APC\">All Progressives Congress<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr President listened attentively and discussed with us as a father, as a party leader and he gave us all the assurance we needed to know that resolution of contentious issues will soon be arrived at.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bagudu was accompanied during the visit by the governors of Plateau and Jigawa states, Simon Lalong and Abubakar Badaru respectively.<\/p>\n<div class=\"abh_box abh_box_down abh_box_fancy\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) on Monday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja and presented their position on the leadership crisis rocking the party to him.
