{"id":26901,"date":"2020-07-03T19:05:51","date_gmt":"2020-07-03T19:05:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/?p=26901"},"modified":"2020-07-03T19:05:51","modified_gmt":"2020-07-03T19:05:51","slug":"edo-govt-warns-schools-reopening-for-third-term","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/edo-govt-warns-schools-reopening-for-third-term","title":{"rendered":"Edo Govt warns schools reopening for third term"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Africa Press-Nigeria:<\/p>\n<p>The Edo State government has insisted that it has not authorised the reopening of schools in the state for the third term academic activities.<\/p>\n<p>The state Commissioner for Education, Mr. Jimoh Ijegbai, made the known in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Benin.<\/p>\n<p>Ijegbai said no school has been authorised to reopen schools in the state whether public or private, including certificate classes.<\/p>\n<p>He warned that schools who flout this directive would be sanctioned.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cIt has come to the attention of the Edo State Government that some schools in the state have reopened and some are planning to reopen for the third term academic session.<\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\" class=\"left relative\">\n<p>\u201cFor the avoidance of doubt, the state government has not authorised schools whether public or private, even the certificate classes to reopen under the present circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that date of resumption will be communicated to all stakeholders after modalities have been put in place at the appropriate time.<\/p>\n<p>The commissioner advised school principals in the state to be guided by the state government\u2019s directive on this.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-center code-block-3\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-center code-block-14\">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa Press-Nigeria: The Edo State government has insisted that it has not authorised the reopening of schools in the state for the third term academic activities.
