{"id":27109,"date":"2020-07-08T20:21:24","date_gmt":"2020-07-08T20:21:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/?p=27109"},"modified":"2020-07-08T20:21:24","modified_gmt":"2020-07-08T20:21:24","slug":"court-refuses-to-grant-okorochas-bid-to-stop-probe-for-alleged-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/court-refuses-to-grant-okorochas-bid-to-stop-probe-for-alleged-fraud","title":{"rendered":"Court refuses to grant Okorocha\u2019s bid to stop probe for alleged fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, refused to grant former Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha\u2019s request for an order restraining the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the state probe panel from investigating him for alleged fraud.<\/p>\n<p>The judge stated this shortly after Okorocha\u2019s counsel, Oba Maduabuchi (SAN) asked the court to make an order stopping the parties in the suit from going ahead with the probe pending the determination of the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Though counsel to the 1st defendant (EFCC) was not in court, counsel to 2nd and 48th defendants, J.M.
